On the Donor

In April 2020, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited & AEON Credit
Service (Asia) Co., Limited pledged an initial donation of HK$200,000 to establish
scholarships to be awarded annually to encourage young people to take a leading
role in society. 

In August 2020, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited & AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Limited donated to establish scholarships to be awarded annually to encourage young people to take a leading role in society. An annual donation has been received since then for the renewal of the Scholarship.

In October 2025, AEON Stores (Hong Kong) Co., Limited, AEON Credit Service (Asia) Co., Limited and AEON 1% Club Foundation pledged an aggregate donation to renew the Scholarship.

Purpose and Scope

Twenty scholarships shall be awarded every year to full-time undergraduate
students under the following categories:
i. 8 scholarships for second or third-year students of the Department of
Japanese Studies;
ii. 8 scholarships for non-final-year students of the Faculty of Business and
Economics; and
iii. 4 scholarships for non-final-year students reading the degree of the
Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering & Logistics
Management and the Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science
3. The Scholarship shall be awarded based on academic merit, subject to the
following threshold criteria:
i. for students of the Department of Japanese Studies: CGPA 3.20 or above
ii. for students of the Faculty of Business & Economics: CGPA 3.30 or
above
iii. for students of the Faculty of Engineering: CGPA 3.30 or above

Up to Twenty-five scholarships shall be awarded to full-time local undergraduate students of the Department of Japanese Studies, allocated under the following categories:

  • Category I: Up to fifteen scholarships for second or third-year students majoring in Japanese Studies
  • Category II: Up to ten scholarships for second or third-year students minoring in Japanese Language

The Scholarship shall be awarded based on academic merit, subject to the following threshold criteria:

  • For Category I: CGPA 3.0 or above
  • For Category II: CGPA 3.2 or above and A– or above in the course JAPN2099 Japanese Language II
