On the Donor

In 1998, The University of Hong Kong Foundation for Educational Development and Research ("HKU Foundation") initated a campaign "Financial Support Programme" to provide scholarships for students with financial needs. Since the academic year 2000-01, the Scholarship has supported many needy students. 

Purpose and Scope

The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of:

1. academic merit as shown in the previous year examination results and the current year academic performance;
2. proven financial need
3. participation in extra-curricular activities 

Note:

• Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.
• Applications for the 2023-24 Scholarship will open in late August 2023 and close in late September 2023. For details, please refer to 2023-24 General Round Scholarship Applications. Results are expected to be available around May/June 2024.
