K.K. Ho Scholarship, The

On the Donor

In 2001, the K.K. Ho Foundation donated a capital sum of 10 million Hong Kong dollars (HK$10,000,000) to the University of Hong Kong for the establishment of The K.K. Ho Scholarship for academic excellence, The K.K. Ho Prize, The K.K. Ho Bursary, and The K.K. Ho Foundation Emergency Funds, tenable in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
 
It is the wish of the Foundation to encourage and reward academic excellence in the different undergraduate degrees offered by the Faculty of Social Sciences. The scholarships and prizes are intended to provide an incentive to students to aim at the highest possible performance in coursework and examinations, in the first and second years of the curricula.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit to undergraduate students in the first or second year of a degree course in the Faculty of Social Sciences.
In cases where candidates are of equal merit, preference shall be given to those with better leadership qualities and social involvement.
