Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Postgraduate Scholarship

On the Donor

In 1985, the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Committee agreed to donate a number of scholarships for postgraduate students.

The number and value of Scholarship to be awarded each year shall be determined by the Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Committee. 

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to selected full-time students reading the degree of MPhil or PhD in the University who are permanent residents of Hong Kong.

The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Financial need will also be taken into account. Candidates would be expected to have a well developed sense of social awareness.

The Scholarship may be renewed, up to a maximum of two years for MPhil students or three years for PhD students, subject to satisfactory academic progress and availability of funds.

Guidance Notes on Application:

The Li Po Chun Charitable Trust Fund Committee reserves the right to disqualify the applicant on the grounds that the applicant has engaged, is engaging, or is reasonably believed to have engaged or be engaging in acts or activities that are likely to cause or constitute the occurrence of offences endangering national security or otherwise the exclusion of the eligibility of the applicant is necessary in the interest of national security, or is necessary to protect the public interest of Hong Kong, public morals, public order or public safety.

Application Timeline:

- Applications for the 2024-25 Scholarship will open around mid-October 2024. Results are expected to be available around August 2025.
