Mary Sun Medical Scholarships

On the Donor

In 1985, a trust fund administered by the HSBC Trustee (Hong Kong) Limited has been established to provide ten scholarships under the will of the late Miss Mary Sun.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarships shall be awarded annually subject to availability of funds to the following students:

(a) four scholarships to undergraduates who have completed the first year of the MBBS degree curriculum; 

(b) four scholarships to undergraduates who have completed the first year of the BDS degree curriculum; and

(c) two scholarships to the MPhil and PhD candidates in the LKS Faculty of Medicine.

The Scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit; financial need will also be taken into account.

Note:

·         Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.

·         Applications for the 2023-24 Scholarship

         for categories (a) and (b): open in late August 2023 and close in late September 2023.

         for category (c): open around mid-October 2023.

 ·              Results are expected to be available around May/June 2024.

Value of Award	MBBS: HK$8,000, BDS: HK$10,000, MPhil and PhD: up to HK$15,000
