Rayson Huang Scholarship in Music

On the Donor

In 1986, friends and colleagues of Dr Rayson Huang, Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong from 1972-1986, donated a sum on the occasion of his retirement to establish a Rayson Huang Endowment Fund.

In 2015, upon the passing of Dr Huang, friends, former students, colleagues and mourners paid their tribute and together donated a sum to the Endowment Fund.

Purpose and Scope

The scholarships shall be awarded to:

(a) students entering the third year of the BA curriculum who intend to take at least 54 credit units of Level 2000, 3000, and 4000 courses from the music sysllabus in the third to eighth semesters, on the basis of academic merit in the first and second years of study; or

(b) students reading for the degree of MPhil or PhD in the Department of Music who have successfully completed at least one year of study, on the basis of academic merit
