On the Donor

The Bank of East Asia has long regarded the field of education as one of the major areas where its contributions can have a direct impact. For many years, The Bank of East Asia Charitable Foundation worked closely with universities and other institutions of higher learning in Hong Kong to identity and recognise the achievements of academically talented individuals by giving them monetary awards, hoping that this recognition will encourage and assist them in the continuation of their studies.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shalll be awarded to selected full-time Year 3 or above students reading a Bachelor's degree or full-time final year students of a Master's degree programme in one of the following areas:

• Finance
• Economics
• Business Administration / Business Studies
• Accounting
• Law (excluding PCLL)
• Risk Management
• Actuarial Science / Statistics

A minimum GPA of 3.4 is required. Preference will be given to students from Hong Kong SAR and those with financial need.

Note:

• Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.
• Applications for the 2024-25 Scholarship will open in late August 2024 and close in late September 2024. Results are expected to be available around June/July 2025.
