SCMP Wah Kiu Yat Po Journalism Scholarship Fund
On the Donor
The SCMP Wah Kiu Yat Po Journalism Scholarship Fund has been set up by the Journalism and Media Studies Centre of The University of Hong Kong (JMSC) with cash donation from the Wah Kiu Yat Po Reader's Loan Fund for Post-Secondary School Students, the latter being a fund operated by the South China Morning Post.
Purpose and Scope
The scholarship fund shall provide the following scholarship and financial subsidies:
- Scholarships to undergraduate students who are pursuing study programmes offered by the JMSC.
- Scholarships to JMSC undergraduate students who have been selected to partake in overseas training programmes (including the JMSC exchange programme) or conferences that would encourage a career in journalism and help to prepare them for the real world.
- Financial subsidies to JMSC postgraduate students who have been selected for unpaid internship in Hong Kong, the Mainland or overseas.
The scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit; financial need will be considered when candidates are of equal merit.
