In 2008, the T.Y. Wu Foundation donated a sum of HK$300,000 for the award of six scholarships
to medical students in the LKS Faculty of Medicine from academic year 2008-09. In 2019, the
Foundation adjusted the number and value of scholarships to be offered each year.

Purpose and Scope
The Scholarship shall be awarded to MBBS students who are permanent residents in Hong Kong
on the basis of academic merit and financial need. Where candidates are of equal merit,
preference shall be given to the candidate in greater financial need.
