Since the first donation instalment of HK$600,000 in 2001, Tung Lin Kok Yuen has been 
awarding postgraduate scholarship for students who wish to pursue the Master of Buddhist 
Studies degree programme on a renewal basis. 

Since the first donation instalment in 2001, Tung Lin Kok Yuen has been awarding postgraduate scholarship for students who wish to pursue the Master of Buddhist Studies degree programme on a renewal basis. 

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to students of the Master of Buddhist Studies (MBuddhStud) degree programme, with priority given to candidates pursuing the 1-year full-time programme. Under special circumstances, the Selection Committee may consider to award the Scholarship to students pursuing the 2-years part-time degree programme.

The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the candidates’ financial need. An interview may be conducted if necessary, and the interview performance shall be taken into consideration. 

The value of each scholarship shall range from HK$10,000 to HK$140,000.

Awardees who receive scholarships with an amount which fully covers the tuition fee of the programme may be required to offer assistance related to academic activities as prescribed by the  Director of Centre of Buddhist Studies.
