In 1961, Mrs Young Tsun Dart donated a sum in memory of her husband, Mr Young Tsun Dart, to establish Scholarship and Bursary tenable by students studying the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programme. The late Mr Young was a major figure in the history of the transportation industry in Hong Kong and the former Secretary of the Yaumati Ferry Company. In 1984-85, the Bursary scheme was phased out.
Up to six scholarships shall be awarded annually, two each to full-time undergraduate BEng students in the second, third and fourth year of study in the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Computing and Data Science.
The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Other factors such as participation in community service and financial need may be taken into consideration.
