In 2011, Professor Sir David Todd and a friend made a donation to the Medical Faculty to establish a scholarship, the “Paul and Margaret Todd Scholarship for Medical and Nursing Students”, in memory of Professor Todd’s late parents, Dr Paul Jerome Todd and Mrs Margaret Todd.
Upon the passing of Professor Todd in August 2017, friends, former students, colleagues and mourners paid their tribute and donated a a sum to the Scholarship. In 2021, the scholarship was renamed to "Paul and Margaret Todd Memorial Scholarship".

Each year, the Scholarship shall be awarded to full-time undergraduate students in the Medical Faculty to support the undertaking of service to the poor and sick outside Hong Kong (with preference given to service activity in an Asian country), or to recognize the commitment and achievement of these students in an endeavour of the same nature. The period of service rendered by the students should not be less than 4 weeks.
The Scholarship shall be awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit, the quality of learning proposal and/or the impact of work achieved. Financial need may also be taken into consideration.
The value of each award shall be determined based on the estimated costs of travel & boarding, the impact of the service, as well as any additional consideration as deemed appropriate.
