On the Donor

In 2011, Mrs Lina Fong generously pledged a donation of the Faculty of Education, for the establishment of a scholarship in memory of her father.  This scholarship will enable the Faculty to attract teachers and education professional working in teacher-training institutions worldwide to study at HKU and disseminate the knowledge gained to others after graduation.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to one or two full-time non-local students of the following three programmes: Master of Education, Master of Science in Information Technology in Education, and Master of Science in Library and Information Managment.

i) The selected student(s) should have achieved at least Second Class Honours(Division One) for the Bachelor's degree, or equivalent to a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3:00 (out of 4.00) or above. 

ii) The selected student(s) should indicate a strong interest and enthusiasm in education or related fields by writing a statement of not more than 1,000 words; and

iii) Priority will be given to student(s) in great financial need with supporting documents provided.
