In 1992, The Hong Kong Electric Company Limited (the “Company”) established 
scholarships in support of students at the University.


In 1992, The Hong Kong Electric Company Limited established Scholarship in support of undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In 2012, the Company extended its support to UG students studying Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Energy Systems Engineering respectively by offering Prize.

Purpose and Scope

Seven scholarships shall be awarded each year, on the basis of academic merit, to local full-time, year 3 undergraduate students of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering following the Electrical Engineering curriculum.

Internship opportunities may be offered to the awardees subject to the Company’s discretion. The awardees may choose to accept.
