Lee Hysan Foundation supports the "Institutional Enhancement Scheme" by providing the Hong Kong Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HKIHSS) a donation. Part of the donation fund is used to establish the Lee Hysan-HKIHSS Fellowship for Postgraduate Students/Senior Undergraduate Students to support students who will be undertaking research training at partner institutions or units of HKIHSS.
The Fellowship shall be awarded to up to 2 full-time postgradute students or senior undergraduate students in the humanities and social sciences each year.
The Fellowship shall be awarded on the basis of (i) academic merit; (ii) research proposal which must be endorsed by the candidate's supervisors; and (iii) relevance of the candidates' research field to any one of the following themes:
- Medicine, science and technology in East Asia
- Inter-Asian hubs and mobilities
- Religion and Society in Asia
