On the Donor
In January 2014, the Medical Class of 1964 initiated a fundraising initiative on the occasion of its celebration of the 50th anniversary of its graduation.
The Scholarship aims to encourage and reward students who have had a very different set of life experiences, growing up under trying circumstances yet have managed to succeed against adversity. The awarding of the Scholarship started in the academic year 2014-15.
Purpose and Scope
The Scholarship shall be awarded to MBBS students of any year on the basis of financial need and academic merit. Preference shall be given to students from less advantaged backgrounds, or those who otherwise have had a harder early life than others. Students from non-traditional paths with solid academic achievements, particularly from underprivileged families, shall be given priority.
The value of each scholarship shall be ranging from HK$10,000 to $50,000.
The Scholarship shall be tenable for normative period of study, subject to satisfactory academic performance being maintained.
