In 2013, Dr. Terry Chik Fu Fai and a group of former students of Professor Stephen HY Wei, former Chair Professor of Paediatric Dentistry and Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, set up this award with the purpose of encouraging and supporting undergraduate dental students to take part in dental community health projects with a focus on Paediatric Dentistry, which is the specialty of Professor Wei.
A project grant of up to HK$40,000 shall be awarded to one or more undergraduate students reading Bachelor of Dental Surgery who will participate in the design and implementation of a dental community health project with a focus on Paediatric Dentistry.
Interested candidate(s) shall submit a proposal for a dental community health project with a focus on Paediatric Dentistry outlining the title, objectives, method, duration, expected outcomes, and budget for presentation to the Selection Committee. The award shall be granted based on the following criteria:
The winning candidate(s) will be awarded with a project grant which shall be made on a reimbursement basis according to the approved budget to carry out the proposed initiatives.
