J.G. Phillips Memorial Scholarship

On the Donor

In 1988, colleagues, students and friends of the late Professor J.G. Phillips, Professor of Zoology from 1962 to 1967, donated a sum to establish this scholarship for full-time research postgraduate students in the School of Biological Sciences.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to full-time students reading for the degree of MPhil or PhD in the School of Biological Sciences to expend their academic experience through attendance at scientific conferences and/or visits to overseas laboratories. 

It shall be granted on the basis of: i) academic merit; ii) the proposed plan of activities overseas which must be endorsed by the supervisors.

 

Application Timeline

• Applications for the Scholarship normally open in November.
• Results are expected to be available no later than February next year.
