On the Donor

In 2013, Ms Wong Shui Ping generously donated a sum to establish a scholarship to support students with financial needs. Ms Wong is a retired Chinese teacher and a kind-hearted person who has been donating for various causes since she landed on her first teaching job from school.

As an educator, she understands the importance of good university education and therefore contributed part of her pension fund to support underprivileged students to realise their academic pursuits.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarships shall be awarded to selected local undergraduate students from Year 2 or above from any faculty on the basis of:

  • academic merit (a minimum of CGPA of 3.0 or equivalent);
  • financial need; and
  • being the first generation in the family to attend University.

Note:
  • Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.
  • Applications for the 2023-24 Scholarship will open in late August 2023 and close in late September 2023. For details, please refer to 2023-24 General Round Scholarship Applications. Results are expected to be available around May/June 2024.
