Medic Class of '81 Springboard Scholarship

In 2014, in memory of one of their classmates, Dr Law Moon Yung, the Medic Class of ’81 donated an initial sum for the establishment of the Medic Class of ’81 Springboard Scholarship. The Scholarship is designed to encourage and reward students who have had a very different set of life experiences, who grew up under trying circumstances yet rose to succeed against adversity. The awarding of the Scholarship started in the academic year 2014-15. 

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to first year MBBS undergraduate students on the basis of 
financial need and academic merit. Preference shall be given to students from less 
advantaged backgrounds, belong to minority groups or otherwise have had a harder early life 
than others. Students from non-traditional paths with solid academic achievements, mostly 
from underprivileged families, shall be given priority.
