On the Donor

United Overseas Bank Limited is a leading bank in Asia with a global network in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America. UOB plays an active role in the community, focusing on children, education, and the arts. In 2017, UOB generously pledged a donation in support of scholarship for Fine Arts undergraduate students at the Faculty of Arts. The scholarships shall be used to support students travel outside Hong Kong to view art in museum collections or other locations, or to undertake art-related internship programmes or to obtain learning experience in a museum, gallery or auction house, etc.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to full-time BA students (in the second year or above) in the Faculty of Arts who are majoring or minoring in Fine Arts. Preference will be given to those qualified students who are majoring in Fine Arts. 

A student can only be awarded this Scholarship ONCE
during his/ her normative period of study at 也e University of Hong Kong.A student can only be awarded this Scholarship ONCEduring his/ her normative period of study at 也e University of Hong Kong.

Travel must be completed during the same academic year when the Scholarship is awarded to the student. A student can only be awarded this Scholarship ONCE during his/her normative period of study at the University of Hong Kong.

The Scholarship shall be awarded with reference to the following criteria: (i) academic merit; and (ii) relevance of the travel plan to the student's study; and (iii) interview performance (if necessary).

The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other merit-based enrichment scholarships administered by the University for the same activity. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with non-merit-based financial aids.
