Hui Ping Cheung Memorial Enrichment Scholarship for Medical Students
許秉璋紀念醫科生拓展獎學金

On the Donor

In 2016, the University received a bequest in the form of shares and cash from an HKU alumna of the 1930s, whose studies were disrupted by illness and war. In remembrance of the alma mater, a legacy was left at the Medical Faculty to establish two memorial funds - the "Hui Siu Wan Memorial Fund" (許少筠紀念基金) and the "Hui Ping Cheung Memorial Fund" (許秉璋紀念基金). Both funds are named after the donor's father and are aimed at supporting students and researchers in their pursuit of medical studies and the advancement of medical research.

Since its establishment, the "Hui Ping Cheung Memorial Fund" has been designated to provide scholarships to medical students in their pursuit of enrichment learning activities. In 2025, its scope in the form of grant was further expanded to include financial support for shorter-term activities.
