On the Donor

n 2018, Mr T H Wong pledged an initial donation of HK$1M to establish an enrichment scholarship in memory of his parents, Mr Wong Shek-Yung and Mrs Wong Lam May-Yuk.  The purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage students to broaden their horizons by taking part in a wide range of learning activities outside Hong Kong. The awarding of the Scholarship shall be effective from the academic year 2018-19.
 
The value of the each scholarship shall be in the range of HK$10,000 to $200,000, depending on nature, destination and duration of the programme.

The awarding of the Scholarship shall be effective from the academic year 2018-19.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall support full time local undergraduate students of any faculty to take part in learning activities such as but not limited to academic exchange, internships, experiential or service learning activities, overseas training, academic conferences, field trips, study tours, and research fellowships.
 
The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Financial need shall also be taken in consideration. In particular, preference shall be given to those who are local ethnic minority students with demonstrated financial need.
 
The Scholarship cannot be concurrently held with other merit-based scholarships administered by the University for the same activity. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with non-merit-based financial aids.
