MaMa Charitable Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship in Buddhist Counselling

In 2018, MaMa Charitable Foundation generously pledged an annual sum of HK$600,000 for 10 consecutive years to establish a Scholarship for candidates to pursue the Master of Buddhist Counselling (MBC) programme at The University of Hong Kong.  The Scholarship shall be awarded from the academic year 2019-20.
 
The value of each scholarship shall range from HK$5,000 to HK$200,000 per annum for fully or partially covering the tuition fee for the normative period of study. The exact award value and the number of awards to be made each year shall be determined by the Selection Committee.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded annually to new MBC students on the basis of (i) 
academic merit and (ii) the candidates’ financial need. An interview may be conducted if 
necessary, and the interview performance shall be taken into consideration. Priority shall 
be given to those pursuing the 1-year full-time degree programme. Under special 
circumstances, the Scholarship may be awarded to students pursuing the 2-years 
part-time degree programme. 
 
 
 
3. The exact award value and the number of awards to be made each year shall be 
determined by the Centre of Buddhist Studies (CBS) based on funding availability. In 
any event, the value of each scholarship shall be not less than HK$10,000.
