On the Donor

 In March 2019, the Aspiration Foundation generously made a donation pledge of 
HK$10 million for the establishment of the “Aspiration Foundation Scholarships and 
Grant Scheme 願慈善基金獎學金及資助計劃”. The scheme shall provide support to 
undergraduate students of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (“Medical Faculty”) who have 
demonstrated extraordinary resilience to pursue a career in the medical profession. 

Since 2019, the Aspiration Foundation has been supporting the “Aspiration Foundation Scholarships and Grant” Scheme with a generous donation sum. The scheme provides support to MBBS students of the LKS Faculty of Medicine through Scholarship specifically designed for degree holders (formerly known as Second Chance Scholarship).

The Scholarship aims to support MBBS students who have been admitted through the Graduate Entry Track. This scheme is specifically designed for professionals or degree holders in any discipline who have not previously studied medicine but have demonstrated exceptional resilience and determination in pursuing a career in the medical profession.

Purpose and Scope

There shall be a maximum of 7 new awards per year per cohort. The value of 
each scholarship shall range from 50% to the full tuition fee of an undergraduate 
student at the prevailing rate (HK$42,100 as of academic year 2018-19). The 
exact number and value of scholarships shall be recommended by the Associate 
Dean (Teaching & Learning), according to the financial need and academic 
performance of students. 

The value of each scholarship shall range from HK$10,000 to HK$50,000. The number of scholarships and exact value of each scholarship shall be determined by a Selection Committee based on academic merit and financial need.
