In June 2019, Dr Clarence Leung and his family generously donated a sum for the establishment of a scholarship fund in honour of the late Mr Leung Tong and Mrs Leung Au Sue Har in the LKS Faculty of Medicine. The donation fund awards Residential Scholarship to students who achieve outstanding results in various public examinations for admission to the MBBS Programme and Enrichment Scholarship for MBBS students.
The Scholarship shall be awarded to MBBS students to support their participation in learning and research programmes outside of Hong Kong that are duly approved by the Medical Faculty. Activities may include but not limited to academic exchange, intercalation studies,
research attachment, humanitarian work and/or any other experiential teaching and learning activities.
The value of each scholarship shall be in the range of HK$10,000 to HK$50,000, based on the academic merit, activity duration and location, and financial need. Preference shall be given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, minority groups or those who have had a harder early life than others.
The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other merit-based enrichment scholarships administrated by the University for the same activity. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with non-merit-based financial aids.
