Mayer Brown Scholarship

On the Donor

In 1986, Johnson, Stokes & Master (“JSM”) established the “JSM Scholarship for LLB Students” at The University of Hong Kong with two awards each year. In 1996, JSM agreed to increase the scholarship value to HK$18,000 each, and in 2002, extended the sponsorship to BBA(Law) and BSocSc(Govt&Laws) students and revised the amount to match the tuition fee. In January 2008, Johnson, Stokes & Master was renamed as “Mayer Brown JSM” and the name of the Scholarship was revised to “Mayer Brown JSM Scholarship for LLB Students”. In 2015, Mayer Brown JSM kindly pledged to set up a new award, “Mayer Brown JSM Scholarship for JD Students”. In September 2018, Mayer Brown JSM was renamed as “Mayer Brown” (“Donor”) and requested for the names of its Scholarships to be revised accordingly. In 2019, the Donor merged the two scholarship schemes under the new award name of “Mayer Brown Scholarship”.
