Vincent Medical Enrichment Scholarship for Medical Students

On the Donor

 In October 2020, Vincent Medical Holdings Limited kindly pledged an initial donation of 
HK$500,000 for the establishment of a new enrichment scholarship scheme in the LKS Faculty of 
Medicine.  The Scholarship aims to enable students to design their own learning experiences during 
their enrichment year in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) curriculum in 
either medical or non-medical fields. 

In December 2020, Vincent Medical Holdings Limited kindly donated an initial sum for the establishment of an Enrichment Scholarship at the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Medical Faculty). The Scholarship aims to support MBBS students in participating in learning and research activities/ programmes related to the fields of Respirology and Pulmonology. In July 2025, the donor agreed to extend the scope of support to include Anesthesiology, Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation within the field of study.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded each year to third year MBBS students of the Faculty on the 
basis of academic merit, financial need, and budget of the enrichment year activities. 
Preference shall be given to students who undertake respirology/ pulmonology-related learning 
and/or research activities during their MBBS Enrichment Year Programme. 

The Scholarship shall be awarded to MBBS students who are participating in learning and research activities/programmes related to the fields of Respirology, Pulmonology, Anesthesiology, Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation. Higher priority shall be given to Respirology and Pulmonology. The activities shall be duly approved by the Medical Faculty and may include but are not limited to intercalation studies, research attachment and/or any other experiential teaching and learning activities.

The value of each scholarship shall be in the range of HK$10,000 to HK$50,000. For shorter term learning activities, the award value shall range from HK$10,000 to HK$25,000. The exact number and value of scholarships to be awarded each year shall be determined by a Selection Committee based on academic merit, financial need, activity duration and location.

The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other merit-based enrichment scholarships administered by the University for the same activity. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with non-merit-based financial aids.
