In February 2021, family of the late Dr Philip K.H. Wong (BA 1955; HonLLD 1996)
made a donation to set up a memorial scholarship1 for law students.

Purpose and Scope
The Scholarship shall support full-time students of undergraduate
programmes organized by the Faculty of Law to take part in learning activities
in Mainland China, including but not limited to academic exchange, short-term
study or visiting programmes, internship or any other activities that are duly
approved by the Faculty.
3. A maximum of five scholarships shall be awarded each year on the basis of
academic merit and the proposed activity.
Two scholarships shall be awarded
annually to:
- One Year 1 local student admitted to the “HKU-PKU Dual Degree
Programme in Law” (HKU-PKU Programme) by HKU, on the basis of
academic merit at the time of admission; and
- One Year 2 local student admitted to the HKU-PKU Programme by
HKU, on the basis of academic merit shown at his/her first year’s
examinations.
The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other merit-based
scholarships. But the Scholarship can be held concurrently with non-merit-based
financial aids.
