In 2019, in remembrance of the late Professor Michael Wilkinson, a group of students, colleagues and friends donated a sum for setting up the “Michael Wilkinson Memorial Fund” for the purpose of providing scholarships to law students and sponsoring public lectures. Professor Wilkinson taught at the Faculty of Law from 1983 until 2019 and is fondly remembered by generations of law students. Besides a dedicated teacher, he was also a prolific scholar specialized in civil litigation, professional practice management and land law.
One scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student who has (i) obtained a distinction in the PCLL overall; and (ii) achieved the greatest academic advancement as reflected in the level of increase in one’s average mark in 3 courses, namely Civil Litigation, Professional Practice Management, and Property Transaction I; compared with his/her law GPA when being admitted to the PCLL programme.
The Scholarship shall be of the value of HK$10,000. There shall be no splitting of award.
