Naomi Molson Medical Scholarship

In 2021, Ms Naomi Molson, through the Master of Public Health (MPH) Board of 
Studies, established the Naomi Molson Medical Scholarship to support young clinicians from 
Southeast Asian developing countries to pursue public health studies with an objective to 
improve the provision of health services in their respective countries. Ms Molson is a scientist 
by training, having studied Physiology at the University of Oxford, and after a first career in 
science entered business. She is a strong believer in the power of education.

Purpose and Scope

Up to ten scholarships in total shall be awarded to new students with a first degree in 
medicine or equivalent from low-income or lower-middle-income Southeast Asian countries 
as defined by the World Bank1 to pursue the full-time or part-time MPH programme. 
 
 
 
3. Each scholarship entails: 
 
 
 
a. waiver of the composition fees of the MPH programme (i.e. HK$176,400 in 2021-22); 
 
 
 
b. a stipend of up to HK$50,100 to support one-year’s living expenses2; 
 
 
 
c. economy-class return airfare at the lowest cost between the Scholar’s country of 
residence and Hong Kong; and 
 
 
 
d. one year’s free accommodation in university student residences. 
 
 
 
4. The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
