Jardine HKU Scholarship
On the Donor
Education is a key area of focus within the Jardine Matheson Group‘s Social
Inclusion strategy. In March 2022, the Jardine Foundation (the “Donor”) pledged to
establish an undergraduate scholarship at the University of Hong Kong (the
“Scholarship), to be awarded annually with the aim of supporting access to further
education by local students who are financially in need, in order to nurture local talents
to be future leaders who will give back to their community.

Purpose and Scope
Up to TEN new scholarships shall be awarded annually under the scheme to
local Year 1 undergraduate students admitted to the University, on the basis of
the following criteria as agreed with the Donor:
• academic merit as shown in the prevailing public examination for
admission,
• together with financial need, and
• leadership potential and demonstrated commitment to community
service.
Among the TEN scholarships, up to THREE awards shall be designated for
students in Medical-related programmes, including but not limited to
programmes in the LKS Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry.
Up to FIFTEEN new scholarships shall be awarded under the scheme to local Year 1 undergraduate students admitted to the University, on the basis of the following criteria:
- academic merit as shown in the prevailing public examination for admission,
- leadership potential and demonstrated commitment to community service, and
- financial need will also be taken into consideration.
Among the FIFTEEN scholarships, up to THREE awards shall be designated for students in Medical-related programmes, including but not limited to programmes in the LKS Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry.
