The University of Hong Kong has a long-standing history of awarding entrance scholarships

to undergraduate entrants who have demonstrated outstanding academic talents and

achievements in their secondary education. This practice also supports the University’s

effort in attracting the most talented pool of students to the undergraduate cohort. Students

presenting outstanding achievements comparable to the highest achieving students of the

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) cohort will be eligible for this

scholarship.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to those students who have satisfactorily completed

their Secondary 6 education of HKDSE curriculum (or equivalent) and are admitted into

HKU, on the basis of academic merit, as reflected in the result of the public examination

for admission to the University. The award scale and number of awards to be made

each year shall be subject to review annually by the Admissions Office (AO), dependent

on the admission landscape and keeping in the spirit that the Scholarship should be

awarded to student of the highest calibre. In any event, the value of each award shall not

be less than HK$10,000.

The Scholarship shall be awarded to those students who have satisfactorily completed their Secondary 6 education of HKDSE curriculum (or equivalent) and are admitted into HKU, on the basis of academic merit, as reflected in the result of the public examination for admission to the University.
