On the Donor
In 2016, the family of the late Madame Au Siu-Lau approached HKU to enquire about
a donation to the University to establish a scholarship in her memory. Madame Au
understood better than most the importance of education and gave her children the
support to pursue their academic dreams. The donation shall be made in the form of
annuity policy1 with annual return disbursed to the University starting from year 2021.

Purpose and Scope
The Scholarship shall be awarded to local undergraduate students from Year 1
from any faculty with demonstrated financial need.
3. There shall be two awards each year at the value of HK$15,000 each.
4. The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
Candidates’ performance in the public examinations for admission to the
University may also be taken into consideration.

Note:
- Applications are usually accepted in Semester One of each academic year.
- Applications for the 2024-25 Scholarship will open in late August 2024 and close in late September 2024. Results are expected to be available around June/July 2025.
