Hong Kong Liberal Studies Teachers’ Association Scholarship

On the Donor

In September 2022, the former Hong Kong Liberal Studies Teachers’ Association made a donation to establish a scholarship for outstanding undergraduates in the Faculty of Education.

Purpose and Scope

A total of five scholarships shall be awarded annually, each to one Year 5 student who is a permanent resident of Hong Kong and who has achieved the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average and attained a minimum CGPA of 3.4 in each of the following programmes: 

(a) Scholarship for Double Degree Programmes (DDPs)

• Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in Language Education – English [BA&BEd(LangEd)-Eng];
  
  
• Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in Language Education – Chinese [BA&BEd(LangEd)-Chin];
  
  
• Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Social Sciences [BEd&BSocSc]; 
  
  
• Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Science [BEd&BSc]; and

(b) Scholarship for Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Special Education [BEd(ECE&SE)]

• Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education and Special Education [BEd(ECE&SE]

In cases of students of equal academic merit, students’ professional potential to be a good teacher, their participation in extra-curricular activities/voluntary service and financial need shall be taken into consideration.

The value of each scholarship for the DDPs shall be HK$18,750, and the value of each scholarship for the BEd(ECE&SE) programme shall be HK$25,000. There shall be no splitting of the award.
