Foundation Scholarship aims to prepare Hong Kong's youth with the skills and
perspectives necessary for leadership in this new world order. The Guangdong-Hong
Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) stands as a testament to China’s commitment to
innovation and reform. This scholarship is tailored to help the new generation maintain
Hong Kong's pivotal socio-economic role.

Purpose and Scope
Eligibility:
- At the time of the application, applicants must be
enrolled as a full-time first-year undergraduate student;
- Attained a Year GPA of at least 3.70 with all letter grades of courses taken available, or an equivalent in Year 1;
- Applicants must hold permanent residency with the right of abode in
Hong Kong. Priority will be given to the candidate with financial needs in the
event that both candidates are equally competent in all aspects of their
performances;
- A high level of proficiency in Chinese (Cantonese and
Putonghua) and English is required;
- When applying for the Scholarship or renewal
of the Scholarship, applicants are required to indicate acceptance of a commitment
to reside in HK or Mainland China for a minimum of two years after
completing the scholarship. Flexibility will be given to post-graduate overseas study and other valid reasons; and
- As part of the Tung & Ngai Scholars' commitment, at least for the Scholarship award period, awardees must be willing to actively
engage with the community by mentoring future scholars, sharing knowledge, and
organising events.
