On the Donor

In 2024, Dr. Winnie S.M. Tang of GIS Academy Ltd agreed to donate a sum to establish the GIS Academy Scholarship to encourage undergraduate student majoring in Geography to pursue GIS and geospatial analysis studies. The “Esri China (Hong Kong) Prize in GIS & Geospatial Analysis” shall be merged under the name of “GIS Academy Scholarship” by pooling its remaining balance.

Purpose and Scope

Two scholarships, of the value of HK$20,000 per student, shall be awarded each academic year to Year 3 and Year 4 Geography major undergraduate students who have achieved the best results in any GIS and geospatial analysis-related courses on the basis of academic merit as follows:

1. One scholarship of the value of HK$20,000, shall be awarded to a third- year student pursuing the aforementioned major, based on his/ her Year II university examination results.
   
2. One scholarship of the value of HK$20,000, shall be awarded to a fourth- year student pursuing the aforementioned degree, based on his/ her Year III university examination results.
   

Examination results in the year of a student’s exchange or leave of absence will not be taken into account in the selection.
