In 2024, the Faculty of Business and Economics established a Fellowship to attract high caliber students to its taught postgraduate programmes.

Purpose and Scope

Up to 150 fellowships shall be awarded annually to new full-time students admitted to any one of the taught postgraduate programmes in the Faculty of Business and Economics based on the following criteria: 

a. Academic performance;
b. Relevance of work experience, if applicable; and
c. Interview performance, if applicable. 

Financial need may also be taken into consideration.

The Fellowship shall not be paid directly to the awardees but rather be applied to cover their composition fees. The value of each fellowship shall range from HK$250,000 to the full prevailing composition fee. In exceptional circumstances where awardees are granted a full composition fee waiver, a subsistence allowance may be arranged to support their living expenses. 

Awardees who participate in Study Modules offered by the Faculty’s Global Centres at any time during their normal programme duration shall be entitled to a one‑off additional allowance of HK$25,000 per person, irrespective of the location of the Study Modules.

The number of fellowships and exact value of each fellowship and subsistence allowance to cover living expenses shall be determined by the Faculty Scholarship Committee upon the recommendation of the relevant Programme Admissions Committee.

The subsistence allowance to support awardees’ living expenses may be extended for up to two years if the awardees successfully extend their programme duration into a second year, subject to the decision of the Faculty Scholarship Committee.
