On the Donor
Dr. Mary M.Y. Fung, a respected alumna and retired professor at the School of Chinese,
pledged a generous gift in May 2025 to establish a Scholarship to
recognize and support students demonstrating outstanding academic performance or
significant academic progress.
Purpose and Scope
FOUR awards, of HKD 10,000 each, shall be granted annually to full-time third-year undergraduate students majoring either in Translation or in Chinese Language and Literature, based on the following criteria:
For students majoring in Translation
- One award to a student who has achieved the best results in translation courses and a CGPA of 3.4 or above; and
- One award to a student who has demonstrated the most significant academic progress in translation courses from Year 2 to Year 3, with a CGPA of 3.0 or above.
For students majoring in Chinese Language and Literature
- One award to a student who has achieved the best results in the list of courses specified below and a CGPA of 3.4 or above; and
- One award to a student who has demonstrated the most significant academic progress in the list of courses specified below from Year 2 to Year 3, with a CGPA of 3.0 or above.
