In 2025, the Merit-based Scholarship for Taught Postgraduate Students in the Department of Urban Planning
and Design was established to award deserving students who have outstanding academic performance in self-funded taught postgraduate programmes offered by the Department of Urban Planning and Design. This scheme
shall be funded by the Department of Urban Planning and Design.
The Scholarship shall be awarded annually as a merit-based scholarship to deserving students who have outstanding academic performance in the programme, based on:
a) academic merit (e.g. academic performance/achievements);
b) interview performance; and
c) personal statement.
The value of each full Scholarship shall cover the composition fee of the respective taught postgraduate
programme, resulting in a waiver of the composition fee for the awardee. If there are compulsory field trips
or programme-related expenses, the funding may be considered for coverage at the discretion of the
Selection Committee.
