On the Donor

In September 2025, the family of Mr Patrick Choi, through The Choi Cheung-Kok Foundation Limited, pledged an initial donation to establish Scholarships and Grants in his loving memory. Mr Choi’s kindness and dedication to supporting young, needy medical students at HKUMed inspired this heartfelt initiative, which aims to provide meaningful assistance to nursing students in need and to honour his lasting legacy.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded annually to full-time Bachelor of Nursing programme students, in support of their participation in life enrichment learning as part of the curriculum requirement, that are duly approved by the School of Nursing.

The exact number of scholarships shall be determined by a Selection Committee on the basis of the academic merit, activity duration and location. Preference shall be given to students with greater financial need.

The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other merit-based enrichment scholarships administered by the University for the same activity. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with non-merit-based financial aids.
