QRT-HKU Scholarship

On the Donor

Qube Research & Technologies Hong Kong Limited (“QRT”) hereby pledges a donation to establish the “QRT-HKU Scholarship” which aims to support outstanding local and non-local students who pursue undergraduate studies with majors related to Mathematics and Data Science at The University of Hong Kong. QRT is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager, operating in all asset classes across the world with its headquarters in London.

Purpose and Scope

Five entrance scholarships shall be awarded to first year students who pursue undergraduate programmes listed below, based on the academic performance in prevailing public examinations for admissions to the University.

  • Bachelor of Science
  • Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Applied Artificial Intelligence
  • Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Financial Technology
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • Bachelor of Statistics
  • Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science
Additionally, non-local students who have shown proven commitment to achieving the HeForShe movement’s goals shall also be taken into consideration. Preference is given to candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds or countries with low national achievements in health, education, income, and gender development and equality.

The value of the Scholarship shall be as follows: 

i) For local students: the Scholarship shall cover the annual composition fee.
ii) For non-local students: the Scholarship shall be of the value of HK$250,000 per year, which covers both the annual composition fee and subsistence allowance.
