C.C. Liu Scholarship

On the Donor

Mrs Amy Liu, wife of the late Professor Liu Ching-chih (known as “C.C. Liu”) wishes to establish a Scholarship in memory of Professor Liu to continue his legacy. In May 2025, Mrs Liu pledged a donation to support outstanding students at the Department of Music to take part in enrichment activities in music, particularly related to promoting New Music in China.

The Scholarship shall support students participating in enrichment activities in music, particularly related to promoting New Music in China. It also aims to promote Chinese music abroad through various activities, including but not limited to, performances, research projects, competitions, and academic conferences.

Purpose and Scope

One scholarship shall be awarded each year to a postgraduate or undergraduate student from the Department of Music who meets the following criteria:

• For undergraduate applicants: A minimum CGPA of 3.0.
  
• For postgraduate applicants: Demonstration of academic excellence, evidenced by research progress approved by both their primary supervisor and their mentor/co-supervisor.
