Swire Postgraduate Scholarship

On the Donor

In January 2026, the John Swire & Sons (H.K.) Ltd. intended to set up a new scholarship with a fund drawing from the remaining of the original “Swire Scholarship” fund, to support outstanding local students admitted to the Master of Science in Integrative Marine Ecology and Conservation (IMEC) Programme.

Purpose and Scope

One scholarship shall be awarded each year to a full-time student with Hong Kong permanent residency admitted to the Master of Science in Integrative Marine Ecology and Conservation Programme, on the basis of the following criteria:

• academic merit and academic achievement (from First Class Honours to Upper Second Class Honours, or equivalent);
  
• financial need; and
  
• leadership potential, commitment to community service, future career intentions to support marine conservation, and interview performance shall also be taken into consideration.
