Jacqueline Sitt and Alex Ng Enrichment Scholarship for Medical Students

On the Donor

In April 2026, Dr Jacqueline Ching Man Sitt, a medical alumna (MBBS 2008), generously donated for the establishment of an Enrichment Scholarship in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (hereafter “Medical Faculty”). The Scholarship shall be designated for supporting MBBS students of the Medical Faculty who are engaged in enrichment activities that enhance their professional development and global exposure. This gift to her alma mater coincides with HKUMed’s upcoming 140th anniversary celebrations from 2026 to 2027, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing medical education.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded annually to full-time MBBS students participating in overseas learning activities — including but not limited to intercalated degrees, voluntary and community service, and elective, clinical, and research attachments — that are duly approved by the Medical Faculty for the fulfilment of the Enrichment Year and Medical Elective requirements.

Up to five scholarships, each in the range of HK$10,000 to HK$30,000 shall be made each year. The exact value of each scholarship and the number of scholarships shall be determined by a Selection Committee on the basis of academic merit, activity location/duration, and financial need.

The Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other merit-based enrichment scholarships administered by the University for the same activity. The Scholarship may be held concurrently with non-merit-based financial aid.
