In 1997, the family and friends of the late Mr George William Hong Choy donated a sum to establish a scholarship in his memory. Mr George William Hong Choy was a graduate of The University of Hong Kong, a holder of the King Edward V scholarship, and was involved in the field of education during most of his life. The above -named scholarship was awarded from the 1989-99 academic year.
One scholarship shall be awarded annually to a first year student in any faculty, on the basis of academic merit. Financial need may be taken into account if necessary. The awardee shall be chosen from a shortlist of four first year students who graduated from one of the following secondary schools:
(a) Diocesan Boys' School;
(b) Wah Yan Hong Kong College;
(c) Chan Shu Kui Memorial School; or
(d) Delia Memorial School (any branches).
