In 2026, the Faculty of Engineering revamped the “Entrance Scholarship for Undergraduate Engineering Students” as the “HKU Faculty of Engineering Global Scholarship”, as an initiative to attract high-calibre non-local students to study undergraduate engineering programmes.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded each year to full-time, first-year non-local undergraduate students enrolled in specified programmes offered by the Faculty of Engineering, on the basis of their academic performance in prevailing public examinations for admission to the University, and their exceptional talents and interests in engineering.

The value of the Scholarship shall range from HK$10,000 to an amount equivalent to 50% of the annual composition fee. The number of awards and exact value of each scholarship shall be determined by the Selection Committee, subject to funding availability.
