Y.F. Hui Memorial Scholarship

Established by the Hong Kong Social Workers Association in 2002, the Y.F. Hui Social Work Trust Fund aims to promote the development of the social work profession. In January 2026, the Y.F. Hui Social Work Trust Fund expressed its intention to establish the Y.F. Hui Memorial Scholarship at The University of Hong Kong. The Scholarship is intended to honour the legacy and contributions of Mr. Y.F. Hui (許賢發先生) to the social work profession and to provide sustained support to students pursuing studies in social work.

Purpose and Scope

The Scholarship shall be awarded to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Social Work (full-time) and Master of Social Work (full-time and part-time) Programmes.

Up to three scholarships shall be awarded each year on the basis of academic merit, allocated as follows: one scholarship to a penultimate‑year student in the Bachelor of Social Work (full‑time) Programme, and two scholarships to penultimate‑year students in the Master of Social Work Programme, with one awarded to a full‑time student and one to a part‑time student. Where candidates are of comparable academic standing, other factors such as commitment to social work, community service, and/or financial need may be taken into consideration.
