The Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund was established in 1987 to commemorate the former late Governor Sir Edward Youde. The purpose of the Fellowship
aims at encouraging and assisting full-time students in pursuing postgraduate studies by research.

Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected by the Council on the basis of the following -
The candidate is required to provide an account of, in not more than 500 words, preferably in English, the reasons for his/ her conducting research on the topic of his/ her choice.
Selected candidates will be invited to attend an interview to be held tentatively in late November/ December 2026 in Hong Kong.

A quota has been reserved for students with disabilities and special educational needs, including physical disabilities, visual impairment, hearing impairment, speech and language impairment, attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorders, specific learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual developmental disorder and/ or mental illness.
