Highways into the Next Century 1996 International Conference Scholarship

On the Donor

In 1996, an international conference, "Highways into the Next Century" was organized by the Hong Kong Highways Association Ltd., the Highways Department of the Hong Kong Government and the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. In 1997, the 1996 Highways Conference Scholarship Fund was donated to the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Hong Kong to establish a Scholarship.

Purpose and Scope

Two scholarships shall be awarded annually to Hong Kong Permanent Residents who are holders of Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a Hong Kong Institution of Engineers accredited University or equivalent and who have achieved excellent results in the examinations of the MSc(Eng) in Civil Engineering programme. Preference shall be given to students who have taken more courses in the area of transportation engineering.
